Redesign of a kids bedroom from pink to beach

Goodbye Pink, Hello Beach! When a little girl decides she's too big for pink, it's a wonderful opportunity to work together to find a better look for her most important room. We painted the walls BM "White Sand", added colorful beach and ocean accents and covered her chair and bench in a coordinating pillowcase from her new bedding. For her, the highlight of this room is the banner flags draping the room and hanging over the bed, and the fiber optic butterfly lights strung across her name. Makes for a great nightlight! And the real bonus here - if the homeowners move, it's a lot easier to sell "white sand" than "pixie pink!" -Susan

Thanks Lisa!

Sometimes I live vicariously through kids bedrooms...so much more license to have fun!

Thanks Chrissie and Wendy for your kind words!  It was a fun project, and there is so much flexibility with the video - lots of transition and music choices!

Hi Leslie - glad you liked it!  Video links do make a difference on a website.  Go for it!

That was cute!!!!  And you're right...you can do almost any theme with walls that are neutral.  So much easier to pack up and go, if needed.  What a great theme for a 'tween'.  =)

Wow ... what a cool tranformation!  We love doing kids and teen rooms, they're so much fun!  Thanks for sharing.

Hi Abby - thanks!  You just can't go wrong with a beach theme.  It's also a great statement of denial regarding the changing of the seasons!

Leigh - Thanks!  I agree...they are my favorite!

I love that!  I did a model home kids room in a beach theme, but the budget was so tight, I couldn't use window treatments and no furniture, except for a bed.

Hi Cindy - Thanks!  How fun to work on a model home...if only budgets weren't so constricting!  We did this one for about $200 plus paint, but we had furniture to work with.  Happy New Year!
