Lighten up!

Never under estimate the power of paint! This living room was redesigned to feel more spacious. By using cream paint (Behr Swiss Coffee) with ultra-white semi-gloss trim, we were able to really open up this room to feel more in balance with the rest of the home. The rug served as inspiration for the almost modern palate. Not much clutter, which will help this home sell faster if it's ever on the market.

TERRIFIC SHOW

I LOVE IT

Thanks Virginia!  I like using One True Media - and I'm sure I can use it more ways than I am!

Susan the room looks great.  Some times it is the simple things that make the biggest difference.

Thanks George!  It only cost $250 for the new rug, and $25 for a can of paint (believe it or not, it only took 2 coats!).  The lamps were brought up from the basement.  Red is a great color, but can really get old after awhile, and it was weighing down the rest of the home.

The rug was the perfect inspiration, and should work year-round too!  Julie

Hi Julie - I just love that rug too...would play well with lots of other colors as well.

Tanya - Thanks!  I do like dark rooms too, but I'm partial to bright!

Great job convincing the owners to change the paint.

I love the carpet too. What a difference and think of the ROI for such simple changes...what would people do without home stagers?!

Hi Dane - they liked the red, but honestly, were tired of it anyway!  So for a can of paint, and a rug (which they take with them when they move anyway), its an incredible ROI story!
